The Best Motorcycle Rides Near Seattle, Washington

Sep. 23 2019 Miscellaneous By ___

The good ol’ Evergreen State is perhaps one of the most beautiful regions to take your bike out on a ride. From the metropolis of Seattle, filled with innovation and a vibrant collection of cultures, to the surrounding national forests and Cascade Mountain range, there’s something to do and explore for all kinds of riders. If you’re like us, living in the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s most populated cities, we’ve got a few motorcycle rides that we recommend everyone try out. You can also stop by Bellevue, where you’ll find Eastside Harley-Davidson, to check out the motorcycles we have for sale right now.

Stevens Pass Greenway

Our first set of routes are recommended directly from Harley-Davidson® themselves. We start with the Stevens Pass Greenway. Starting in Everett, all you do is follow US Highway 2, until reaching the city of Wenatchee, along the Columbia River. At 122 miles, it’s a longer ride, and you’ll want to plan for a few stops to stretch your legs and give your body a break, but along the way, you’re going to snake your way through the Cascades and the surrounding forests. It might challenge your skills, but there will be no shortage of stunning landscapes and fresh air to help clear your head of the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Paradise Ride

Follow I-5 S to WA-512 E and later WA-7 S, which will lead you to Paradise, right at the base of Mt. Rainier. Sitting south of the mountain, the benefit of stopping here is the surreal environment, right at the base of the mountain. It’s the busiest and one of the most classic places to visit near the mountain and when you arrive, you’ll immediately see why. Surrounded by stunning wildflower fields, there’s no better spot to admire Mt. Rainier itself. This area is surrounded by popular hiking trails and is a must-visit for photographers. If you’re riding there during winter, be prepared to chain up, or maybe wait for the roads to clear up a bit.

The Local Ride

For something a little shorter, try a simple ride south. Follow I-5 S (preferably when traffic’s not too bad), and make your way to the Old Pacific Highway. Then turn onto Yelm Highway to State Route 507 SE, before getting onto Old Highway 99 and finally stopping for a bite to eat at the Old Hwy 99 Company Bar & Grill. Along the way, you’ll enjoy an easy ride through the open countryside and through some of the smaller towns on the outskirts of the bigger cities. And at the end, enjoy some delicious foods before heading home again.

Olympic Peninsula

If you’d like to extend the local ride into something a little longer, continue following I-5 S until you reach US-101 N to ride around the entire Olympic Peninsula. It’s one of the most famous regions in our state and filled with culture and scenery. In our opinion, it’s one of the best rides in the entire Pacific Northwest and will let you explore the area in a way you may not have experienced before. Locate some of your favorite stopping points so you know when to pull over, or explore somewhere new.

And these are just the motorcycle rides you can enjoy near Seattle, Washington. There’s an entire state filled with roads to ride, so get ready to stretch your motorcycle’s legs. You can also stop by Eastside Harley-Davidson in Bellevue to ask our staff what some of their favorite routes are. You might even run into some fellow Harley enthusiasts who would make for excellent riding companions.
